Artist Statement

I work across sculpture, installation and spatial practice, exploring how space acts upon the body. With a background in stage design and sculpture, I approach space through the relationships between material, light, sound and movement, and through the ways these relationships shape perception.

Working with ceramics, latex, metal and textiles, I am drawn to surfaces and structures that hold marks of pressure, contact and change. Repetition, erosion and gradual transformation recur in my work. Forms can suggest a body, a landscape or a fragment of infrastructure while remaining open to several readings.

In my collaborative work, sculptural forms enter into conversation with field recording and moving image. Coastal landscapes and transitional spaces offer a starting point for thinking about duration, memory and instability. I am interested in how an encounter unfolds through proximity and sustained attention, and how material and spatial conditions can gradually alter a viewer’s sense of orientation and presence.
